Tour Description - Itinerary
Challenge yourself
First of all, bikers will be met and welcomed at the airport.
The initial briefing for our Sicily bike tour will be given during transportation to the hotel.
The latter is located at the unspoiled seaside of Marina di Cottone.
Over there the bikes and accessories will be delivered, set to up to perfection and ready to depart on the next day for our amateur level Sicily bike tour.

The date of final pick up for the departure should be agreed with Cycling Sicily in advance and could not match with the day of bikes’ drop off after the tour. Our guests are welcomed to benefit from our transport services to travel in Sicily in an alternative way.
All our tours may vary depending on the weather conditions and participants’ physical conditions.
DAY 1 - Calatabiano and Motta Camastra

Your guided biking tour begins! The first day is quite simple with a little climb, just to familiarize yourself with the roads and get acclimated. We will travel in the North-Western direction, surrounded by orange and olive groves and pass the Arab-Norman castle of Calatabiano. Arrive to Motta Camastra, a charming rustic village perched on a hill, offering the breathtaking views on the valley; there some scenes of ”The Godfather” were filmed.
DAY 2 - Montalbano Elicona
Mojo Alcantara and Roccella Valdemone
The second day of your bicycle touring will be certainly demanding. Not only for distance traveled but also for the altitude attained. We move from Motta Camastra towards Montalbano Elicona, a medieval village ranked among the most beautiful in Italy. Above all, this day gives you the opportunity to visit such places of interest as Alcatara river Gorges, Mojo volcano, local peach orchards known as the land of peaches D.O.P. and finally, the magnificent scenery of Roccella Valdemone, situated among woods, grazing lands, and uncontaminated nature.
DAY 3 - Santa Domenica Vittoria and Randazzo

On the third day of your cycling experience we travel in the direction of Etna’s Black City Randazzo. Its magnificent historic center is famous for an ancient basilica. It is probably, the most beautiful one in Sicily, entirely built in Etna black lava stone. During today’s ride we will also enjoy a pleasant stop at Santa Domenica Vittoria to taste the local delicacies.
DAY 4 - Mount Etna
Mount Etna and surrounding villages.
The fourth and last day, will be certainly the most demanding but also the most gratifying. This day we will spend in the UNESCO world heritage site – the nature reserve of Mount Etna. We will arrive at the height of about 1800 meters of the Sicily’s Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe with its peak at 3341 meters above sea level. During this day ride, we visit such important places on the Western Etna slope like Bronte, city of the pistachio D.O.P. and the country side, where we make a stop to taste the famous Sicilian granita. Therefore, we will continue to go through the towns of Adrano and Ragalna, there begins the last climb that takes us straight to your hotel.
